LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The state Christmas tree lit up in Lansing on Friday night, marking the start of the winter holiday season.

To concern: State Christmas tree lights up Lansing

It was a spectacular night of lights, parades and Christmas cheer.

Silver Bells in the City returned to downtown Lansing after scaling down the event in 2020. Thousands of people gathered for Lansing’s biggest holiday celebration.

“It’s pretty exciting,” said Haylie Lewis. “Glad to see all the lights and floats in the parade and stuff.”

While Lewis was delighted to see the pomp of the parade, Anna Konieczni was delighted to see the light show from the drone.

“I thought drones at the Olympics were cool to be able to almost make a story in the sky,” Konieczni said. “I thought it was cool.”

“I think it’s exciting to hang out with people who are celebrating again. Last year was very closed and you couldn’t see the family. It’s nice to be back with everyone, ”said Maggie West. “I feel like it’s a breath of fresh air. It’s nice to be back! You know you missed it. Now it’s 10 times more exciting and even seeing the lights is fun.
