Photos of the week: black beasts

FLORIDA – Phone cameras make it easy to capture great moments anytime, anytime. Have you taken photos of blossoming flowers, children frolicking on the beach, jaw-dropping sunsets, dramatic skylines, or a fun photo of the family’s dogs diving in the backyard pool?

The Florida Patch sites publish a collection of photos of the week sent by readers every weekend.

Whether you’ve taken an amazing photo with your smartphone or spent hours capturing the defining moment on a Nikon D6, send your photos to Tampa Bay Patch editor Ann White at dann.white@patch.com with the location of the photo and the name of the photographer. You might see your photo featured on Patch.

It has become one of our favorite features. We love looking at the great photos we receive as much as the readers loved taking them.

The response has been overwhelming, and it has been fun – and empowering – to choose a collection of photos each week with a specific theme.

This week we present a collection of photos of readers’ pets.

Left, Trish Small took a photo of Portuguese Water Dog Jetty looking for dolphins in Anclote Key. “Jetty is the perfect first mate. He’s a rookie but surprisingly natural enough for that,” said Chiqui Gavilan. On the right, Stacy Ehlers took this photo of Baylee after a beach getaway on Honeymoon Island.
