Night to Shine drive-thru kicks off 2022 festivities
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Super Bowl wasn’t the only place it was raining confetti.
One Life Community Church again held its Night to Shine drive-thru celebration to kick off this year’s festivities.
The good weather allowed them to go beyond last year’s event and their guest of honor received an even warmer welcome from the crowd waiting for them.
Another casualty of COVID-19 cancellations was Night to Shine, which is usually a full week of celebrations topped with a choice dance to end the week. But our local chapter will always celebrate those in our community who are not always used to it.
“People love this event because it’s about our honored guests, people with disabilities, they love it, because it’s a chance to feel God’s love in a real physical way. We just can’t forget those people in our community who have special needs, and I know sometimes we do, and we have an organization that we love to connect with people. If you want to connect, give us a shout, we do a lot of fun stuff and they’re just the best people in our community, they deserve it, you know? says Ashley Whitfield.
Whitfield says the rest of this year’s celebrations will be different.
After Sunday, they choose to hold a spring dance on May 1 and then continue Night to Shine events throughout the year.
