Maryland Announces Homecoming Game Festivities | Sports
COLLEGE PARK – The Maryland Homecoming football game against Indiana on Saturday, October 30 will be a celebration of 2001 ACC Champion Terrapins.
Twenty seasons ago, under first-year head coach Ralph Friedgen, the Terps captured the nation’s attention by winning a conference championship for the first time since 1985 and playing in the Orange. Bowl with an overall record of 10-2.
Fans can relive this special season by taking advantage of the various festivities planned for the match which begins at noon.

Members of the 2001 team will be honored during a field reconnaissance between the first and second quarter of the Terrapins-Hoosiers match
Tribute to Head Coach Ralph Friedgen
On the 20th anniversary of his victory as National Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year, Friedgen will be recognized by the Bobby Dodd Foundation in the first quarter.
EJ Henderson College Football Hall of Fame Induction
The only two-time Consensus All-American in Maryland football history will be honored to celebrate his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame in December
Maryland Laureates Day
In addition to the 2001 football team, all past letter-winners from all of Maryland’s teams will be honored and current student-athletes, who recently graduated from college, will receive their letter jackets.
