Hampden gears up for 41st Children’s Day festivities on Saturday

It’s a day full of kid-centric activities, with food trucks, music, a parade and ice cream!

For over 40 years, the people of Hampden have celebrated a day dedicated to children with their annual Hampden Children’s Day festivities.

Like many activities over the past two years, Hampden’s Children’s Day festivities have been canceled in both 2020 and 2021, due to Covid.

But this year, he is making a triumphant return!

Bring your appetite as there will be a number of food trucks on site that day including JJ’s Jerk Shack, CraveME, Poppie’s Kettle Korn, Blue Smoke BBQ, Little Red Snack Shack and Witham’s Ice Cream.

Hampden Children’s Day organizers say the event is made possible by local sponsors. They also still need some volunteers. If you would like to donate time, you can register here.

Weatherbee School is located at 22 Main Rd North in Hampden.

And just as a word of warning, the event organizers want you to know that all children attending the Hampden Children’s Day festivities must be accompanied by an adult, and while service dogs are permitted, all other pets are prohibited on school grounds.
